The robotization of the slaughter lines for pigs in Spain is already a reality thanks to the implementation of the AIRA robots through INTECAL’s commercialization effort.
Nowadays there are 14 slaughterhouses in Spain equipped with robotic AIRA with a total of 32 robots, 20 of which are for pig splitter and the rest for the carcasse opening, the bung dropper and the double function of the aitchbone and the neck cutter. This year 2016 the implementation will continue with the installation of five more units in two slaughterhouses, two for the splitting and three for the slit opening.
